Huawei Chen received the Ph.D. degree from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China in 2004.

In 2004, he joined the Department of Electronic Science and Engineering, Nanjing University, China, as a Postdoctoral Researcher. From August 2005 to August 2009, he was with the Centre for Signal Processing, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as a Research Fellow. Since September 2009, he has been a full Professor with the College of Electronic and Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China. He has published more than 100 research papers in refereed journals and conferences. His current research interests include audio and speech signal processing, microphone array signal processing, statistical and adaptive signal processing, deep learning and its application in signal processing. He served/serves as an Associate Editor of the journal IEEE ACCESS and the Springer journal Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing.
