Abstract:The doubly salient electromagnetic motor (DSEM) is a kind of variable reluctance machine, which has a wide application prospects for its merits of high reliability and high-speed running capability. The armature current control methods adopt hysteresis-control and traditional PWM control commonly. However, with these control methods, it is difficult to acquire excellent dynamic performances and precise current regulation simultaneously. In this paper, a mini-ripple control method is proposed to control armature current of DSEM. The implementation method of the proposed method is illustrated. The operation principle and working characteristics are analyzed in detail. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control method are verified by experimental results.
