Abstract:This paper presents a single layer reflectarray antenna operating as a polarization beam splitter. The working bandwidth is improved by the three-parallel-dipole design. And the beam splitting is achieved by the element of two pairs of dipoles overlapping orthogonally on the surface of the reflectarray. The relative length of the parallel dipoles is chosen to overcome the bandwidth limitation of single layer reflectarrays, which provides the bandwidth varying from 11.3 GHz to 13.4 GHz. And an independent distribution of phase-shift elements is accessed by the superior polarization isolation of the varying-sized dipoles, which produces separate reflected beams with an angle of 30. for TE and TM polarized incident waves.
