Abstract:This paper briefly reviewed the developments and applications of the unconditionally stable finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method based on the Associated Hermite (AH) orthogonal functions-AH FDTD method. It is a time domain tool but shares with some similar performance with FDFD (finite-difference frequency-domain) method. In addition, it can also be represented as a bridge of FDTD and FDFD method, which especially has advantages for efficiently solving frequency dependent problems in time domain.
