Abstract:This paper presented a time-variant shoot- through modulation strategy based on single-stage boost inverter. The proposed time-variant shoot-through modulation strategy is applied to the traditional simple shoot-through modulation strategy here, which can be applied to any modulation strategy to improve the system efficiency. This strategy divides an output cycle into six sections. In each section, it is possible to satisfy the other phase voltages as long as the DC-bus voltage can satisfy the instant maximum value of one phase voltage. When it is not at the peak of output three-phase voltage, the DC-bus voltage is lower than that of simple shoot-through modulation strategy; the traditional zero vector of a driving signal in each section is fully utilized by the shoot-through zero vector, thereby reducing the number of switching times. The above two characteristics lead to reducing the system power loss and improving the efficiency. Finally, the correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified by experimental results. © 2018 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
