Abstract:In the permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM) speed adjusting system, the overshoot of step response is hard to avoid in the conventional proportional integral (PI) controller. Although IP control can eliminate overshoot, the response becomes slow. In this paper, a PI controller with input gain is proposed, which adopts input derivative feedforward (IDF). The controller changes the error proportion into the difference between the input proportion and the feedback proportion, and then adds input gain M to the input proportion. Through optimization design, the response of the step input is fast and non-over shoot when M equals 0.5. Meanwhile, the response of the time-varying input is error-free when M equals 1.In order to ensure the tracking performance under the step input and the time-varying input simultaneously, a variable structure PI controller is proposed. Based on the PI controller with input gain, the variable input gain PI controller judges the input type according to the input gradient, and then chooses the corresponding optimal gain automatically. Extensive experiments are performed to verify the validity and practicality of the proposed controller. © 2017, The editorial office of Transaction of China Electrotechnical Society.
