The analysis of arbitrary dispersive models by using AH FDTD method

  • Abstract:The time domain finite difference method has been applied in many fields. The convolution operation is necessary for the processing of dispersion medium. It is a frequency-dependent problem, which means that it is represented in the time domain as how to deal with convolution. From the point of view of signal and system, dispersion relation is a kind of system transfer relation. According to AH transformation matrix, the frequency dispersion relation in AH domain can be expressed as a linear relationship based on AH transformation matrix. Therefore, it can be easily embedded into AH FDTD algorithm, and can deal with general dispersion medium problems. The following is a detailed analysis. © 2018 ACES.
