    Arisen Ni-Si compounds in the fabricated SiC-NWs/melamine-based carbon foam composites with ultralow thermal conductivty

    摘要:SiC-NWs/melamine-based carbon foam composites with ultralow thermal conductivity were fabricated via the chemical vaper infiltration with Ni catalysis. The SiC-NWs/MCF composites possessed a typical structure that the numerous SiC-NWs sprouted out from the porous skeletons of the MCF matrix to fill with MCFs' cells. Results indicated that there the beta-SiC and the delta-Ni2Si existed in the SiC-NWs/MCF composites, where the beta-SiC existed in form of the SiC-NWs and the delta-Ni2Si in the bulk morphology on the node. Meanwhile, it was demonstrated that growth of the SiC-NWs followed the Vapor-Liquid-Solid mechanism. Furthermore, it indicated that the composites foam of SiC-NWs/MCF possessed the ultralow thermal conductivity that they were only 36.1 mW . m(-1) . K-1 (at 100 degrees C) and 55.5 mW . m(-1) . K-1 (at 900 degrees C) respectively.
