Abstract:In the paper, a new absorber with specific snowflake design has been proposed to improve the polarization and the angular stability. Compensation mechanism has revealed by the electrical current loop for the resonance absorption excitation in the equivalent circuit model. The FSS unit of snowflake structure is designed with high omnidirectional rotational symmetry on flexible PTFE substrate and hence realizes the polarization and the angular stability. In the TE and TM mode, when the oblique incident angle is gradually increased from 0° to 80°, the maximum absorption rate of the FSS absorber is maintained above 80% and the absorption curve completely coincident when the structure is for different polarization angles. At the same time, the structure is equally applicable in the case of finite large planar FSS absorbers. © 2019 IEEE.
