Accuracy Improvement for Antenna Measurement in a Noisy Anechoic Chamber Using an Artificial Way

Abstract:Quality of anechoic chamber is very important for antenna measuring. In this paper, an accurate measurement of the antenna in far-field condition is described under a relatively large reflection effect because of the around chamber room non-perfect condition. During measurement, the noise ripple around 5dB/100MHz is found at the chamber, while after removing the noise without any physical improvement in the chamber below 0.4dB/1GHz. Thus the corresponding accuracy of ±0.3dB is achieved at boresight of the antenna. First sidelobe level accuracy of ±0.8dB has been achieved. Various time-domain transformation techniques have been discussed and compared. Finally, automated software is developed to verify these measurements. © 2019 IEEE.
