Fei Xiao obtained his BSc and MSc degrees in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively, and his PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2019. He was affiliated as data analyst with NTU-JTC Industrial Infrastructure Innovation Centre (I3C) from 2018 to 2019, and as research fellow with SJ-NTU Corporate Laboratory from 2019 to 2021. He is currently working as associate research professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). His research interests include (1) discovering information or knowledge from field data of underground rock grouting based on statistical analysis and intelligent algorithm; (2) theoretical study and numerical modelling of rock grouting and water seepage, and the associate fluid-structure interaction (FSI); and (3) exploitation of geothermal energy from abandoned oil/gas wells based on analysis of heat and mass transfer. He has participated in several underground projects in Singapore on water seepage control and energy storage.
