    High-Efficiency High-Bandwidth Switch-Linear Hybrid Envelope-Tracking Power Supply with Slew Rate Split-band Method

    摘要:Envelope Tracking (ET) Technique can remarkably improve the efficiency of the power amplifier (PA) in the modern Mobile Communication Base Station. Switch-Linear Hybrid (SLH) ET power supply has become the mainstream structure, which gives consideration to high efficiency and high bandwidth. However, the SLH ET power supply with single switching converter suffers a low efficiency as increasing the tracking bandwidth. A SLH ET power supply, which is composed of the slow switching converter, fast switching converter and linear amplifier, is proposed in this paper. Based on the envelope signal and switching converter analytical results, this paper presents a slew rate split-band method, which can allocate load power in slow switching converter, fast switching converter and linear amplifier properly. And a current predictive control is adopted to control the switching converter with the proposed method. Finally, a prototype is built aiming for 10MHz tracking bandwidth, with 9.6 V similar to 26.4 V output voltage and 40 W peak output power. The testing efficiency is 77.0%, and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
