Abstract:With unique impedance network, single-stage boost inverter can utilize shoot-through zero state to realize boost control, which are suited for applications with wide input voltage. Different ways of shoot-through modulation affect the current ripple of inductors, the voltage stress of switches, the quality of output voltage and so on. In traditional six distributed shoot-through modulation, the shoot-through time interval is divided into six equal parts without extra number of switch times, and the current ripple of inductor can be reduced. In the proposed hybrid six distributed shoot-through modulation, the traditional six distributed shoot-through modulation is used as one of the modulation modes, besides three modulation modes are proposed. In this paper, the selection of modulation modes is decided by different output voltage gain. Compared to the traditional six distributed shoot-through modulation, the hybrid modulation can reduce the voltage stress of switches and current ripple of inductors in the same output voltage gain. The experimental results are shown to verify the features of the control methods. © 2018 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
