Title of Paper:Microstructure and mechanical properties of the MLMPW on Invar alloy

Abstract:The Multi-layer and Multi-pass Welding (MLMPW) is employed in joining 19.05mmthick Invar alloy plates. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the welded joint are investigated. It is revealed that a perfect joint can be obtained with appropriate welding parameters and the proper cleaning before welding. Tensile specimens indicate a fracture pattern of ductile fracture. The fracture surface of the specimens are consisted of equiaxed dimples. Besides, the tensile strength of weld bead reaches more than 80% of the base metal. The microhardness of the heat affected zone is lower than that of the base metal. ©2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.
