Abstract:The random characteristics of wire electromagnetic parameters are key factors to predict the crosstalk of multiconductor transmission lines (MTL). Combining finite element method (FEM) with probability statistical method, this paper establishes a numerical calculation model of MTL by Ansys software. According to the structure characteristics of cross section of transmission lines, the simulation model is simplified and the extraction method of electromagnetic parameter matrix of per-unit length is optimized. The effectiveness and feasibility are both verified by cases. Based on the principle of probability statistics, the probability distribution of electromagnetic parameters can be obtained by piecewise convolution method. Besides, a probability distribution algorithm taking three thresholds as the converge condition is proposed and verified. Compared the theoretical results with experimental ones, the proposed prediction method possesses the following advantages: simple and easy to operate, good versatility and high accuracy. It is shown the proposed method is an effective method to predict the crosstalk of MTL. © 2018, Electrical Technology Press Co. Ltd. All right reserved.
