Abstract:In high frequency pulsating current injection based sensorless control of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSM), high order filters are usually utilized to restrain the error brought by step signals. This paper proposed a novel rotor position observer using second-order generalized integrators (SOGI) instead of filters. The observer was made up of two SOGIs in series. The first SOGI extracted the high frequency signal and the second SOGI obtained the error information. With the proposed observer, the signal delay and computational burden are reduced. The differential feed-forward control was utilized to lower the influence of step signal to this observer in dynamic process. The experimental results based on a RT-LAB platform verify the feasibility of the designed observer. © 2017, The editorial office of Transaction of China Electrotechnical Society. All right reserved.
