Abstract:Excitation fault is troublesome because it takes a negative impact on the overall performance of the doubly salient electromagnetic machine (DSEM). To deal with the excitation fault, this paper studies the machine design and fault-tolerant control strategies for DSEM driving system with three-phase full-bridge converter. With the view of the unique electromagnetic structure of DSEM, this paper analyzes the influence of the armature winding turns on the self-inductance and the torque. To prevent the torque reduction after the loss of excitation, the adjustment of armature winding turns and a novel conduction mode for DSEM are investigated. The simulation results validate the correctness of the proposed method.
