Evaluation of Voltage Controllers Based on Active Damping for the CVCF Power Converter under Nonlinear Load Condition

Abstract:The constant voltage constant frequency (CVCF) power converter for railway power supply system requires accurate output voltage. The necessary condition to achieve zero steady-state error voltage control for CVCF converter is deduced. Then the inherent relationship among different AC controllers is presented in this paper. To compare the performance and implementation of the reduced order generalized integrator (ROGI), the proportional resonant (PR) and the repetitive control (RC), a neutral point clamped (NPC) single-phase three-level CVCF inverter prototype with active damping control is built and tested. The recommendation on controller selection is given for different applications. © 2018 IEEE.
