现任南京航空航天大学航空学院飞行器设计国家重点学科二级教授、博士生导师,航空宇航工程研究院院长。曾任南京航空航天大学研究生院院长、航空宇航学院院长、直升机旋翼动力学国家级重点实验室主任现兼任国际直升机教育联盟秘书长、美国直升机学会中国分会主席、亚/澳直升机年会执行委员会委员、中国航空学会对外合作委员会委员、江苏省工学I类研究生教育指导委员会主任、科学出版社《飞行器系列丛书》和《飞行器设计与工程力学品牌专业系列教材》编委会主任、《南京航空航天大学学报》编委、国际一区学术期刊《航空宇航科学与技术Aerospace Science and Technology》副主编、《俄罗斯航空学报Russian Aeronautics》编委。以大会主席的身份组织举办了四届由美国直升机学会和中国航空学会等单位联合主办的国际直升机技术基础研究国际学术会议(International Basic Research Conference on Helicopter Technology)和亚澳直升机论坛(Asian/Australian Rotorcraft Forum)及首届中俄直升机技术论坛(China-Russia Forum on Helicopter Technology)。长期从事直升机动力学与振动控制等方面的人才培养和科学研究。指导毕业博士生19名、指导毕业硕士生46名。指导的博士生获江苏省优秀博士学位论文2篇、航空宇航科学与技术学科全国优秀博士学位论文,指导的硕士生获美国直升机学会奖学金,指导的本科生团队获美国直升机学会第33届世界大学生旋翼飞行器设计竞赛第一名。个人学术由美国直升机学会在其会刊Vertiflite做专栏介绍。入选由美国斯坦福大学和国际权威学术出版集团爱思唯尔(ELSEVIER)联合发布的全球航空航天领域前2%顶尖科学家终身科学影响力榜单。以“Student First”为理念培养研究生,被评为两届南京航空航天大学“良师益友——我最喜爱的导师”。与美国、俄罗斯、英国、意大利、日本、韩国、新加坡、印度等国家的高校和学术机构有着非常紧密的学术联系和合作关系。
