Abstract:A novel method of grey option prioritization is developed to efficiently deal with grey preferences using grey interval truth values of option statements at feasible states within the framework of the Graph Model for Conflict Resolution. The truth value of option statements at a state in crisp option prioritization is based on Boolean logic, which is unable to handle some specific circumstances that the truth value may not be precisely "true" or "false". Therefore, the concept of grey interval truth value is proposed to capture the uncertainty in the truth of an option statement at a feasible state, which takes into account binary truth values as well as any truth uncertainties that are more general according to the specific conditions and can reflect some thoughtful consideration of Decision Makers (DMs). For obtaining DMs' grey preferences over feasible states, grey option prioritization technique is introduced by assigning an interval grey score to each state according to its interval grey truth values. And it is confirmed that grey option prioritization can also handle crisp truth values of option statements that are completely based on Boolean logic, making crisp option prioritization technique as a special case of grey option prioritization method Finally, this method is applied to Elmira groundwater contamination dispute to demonstrate how it can be employed to solve real-world decision problems.
