Abstract:An improved incoherent back projection (BP) imaging method is proposed, in which self-amplitude weighting is applied to improve the resolution of each coarse image and multiplicative tomography weighting is applied to suppress the background interference as well as to further enhance the final image resolution. Performance of this method is investigated through numerical simulation and experiment. The results show that, compared with traditional BP imaging method, the proposed method achieves remarkably improved resolution and background suppression. Therefore, this improved BP imaging method is a good solution to high-performance radar imaging. © 2019 IEEE.
