Effects of erucylamide and EBS composite lubricant on the properties of Fe based powder and green compact

Abstract:The effects of erucylamide and EBS composite lubricant on the properties of Fe based powder and green compact were investigated by SEM, EDS, powder characteristics and mechanical properties tests. The results suggest that the dispersibility of composite lubricant effectively improved with the addition of fine graphite powder. The flowability, the apparent density, the green compact density and the green compact strength of Fe based powder increased with the increase of amount of fine graphite powder in composite lubricant, but the effects of the amount of fine graphite powder were not obvious when it was more than 3 wt.%. The ejection force of the green compacts reduced with the addition of the composite lubricants.
