Piji Li is a professor in the College of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and he also leads the NUAA NLP Group. Previously, he was a senior researcher at Tencent AI Lab. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018, under the supervision of Prof. Wai Lam. Before joining CUHK, He was a full-time R&D Engineer at Baidu Inc. and Wumii Inc. He received his master and bachelor degree from School of Computer Science and Technology in Shandong University from 2005 to 2012, under the supervision of Prof. Jun Ma.

He has interests in several broad research directions, such as natural language processing, computer vision, and deep learning. Specifically, pre-trained models, text summarization, text generation, dialogue systems, etc.
