Abstract:The performance of sensor-less control for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) at low speeds mainly depends on the detection precision of rotor position. This paper focused on high-frequency pulsating voltage injection. Firstly, it was pointed out that the estimated position includes a significant 2nd harmonic error considering motor parameter asymmetry and current detection error. This harmonic error was theoretically analyzed. Secondly, a dual filter compensation method with an initial phase angle was proposed to eliminate the error. Yet not enough the initial phase angle is hard to be calculated, and then an improved method is put forward. Lastly, the validity of the proposed compensation method is verified by experiments on the platform for a 1.5kW PMSM drive. © 2018 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
