Ecological Efficiency of Decision-Making Units through Development of Mathematical Model: The Electricity Distribution Sector in Iran

Abstract:The aim of this ecological study is designing a quantitative model to evaluate the efficiency of similar and homogeneous decision-making units through the development of a mathematical model called data envelopment analysis (DEA) on the basis of principles of mathematical ecology, so that it gives more precise figures for efficiency of decision making units than the current DEA models. According to the importance of the electricity industry in ecosystem the subject of this study is the electricity distribution sector in Iran environment. In order to answer the main questions of this research, the methods of determining the multicollinearity of variables (using the index VIF (Variance Inflation Factor)) and Principle Component Analysis, linear and nonlinear estimates and expansion of the DEA model in a non-linear form model were used.
