Abstract:Yb2+-doped SrSi2O2N2had been successfully synthesized using a conventional solid-state reaction method under reducing atmosphere. The phase and luminescence properties of the SrSi2O2N2phosphors were investigated. Being an orange-red emitting phosphors, SrSi2O2N2:Yb was an emission peaking at 605 nm. With the increasing amount of Yb2+, the optical band gap of SrSi2O2N2was decreased. The optical band gap of SrSi2O2N2is decreased by Yb2+increasing. The luminescence spectra of the nitrogen-rich coordination of Yb2+in SrSi2O2N2can be promoted. The concentration quenching mechanism of Yb2+emission was responsible for the electric dipole-dipole interaction. © 2017 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
