Title of Paper:Control method for single-winding 12/4 bearingless switched reluctance motor

Abstract:The conventional 12/8 bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) has the problem of coupling between torque and levitation-force control, which complicates the control algorithm of rotation and levitation, and deteriorates its performance. To allocate the generation of torque and levitation force in different regions for each phase, the 12/4 BSRM can naturally realize the decoupling of torque and levitation-force control. In this paper, the pulse width modulation (PWM) method is employed for 12/4 BSRM to regulate the speed, and the levitation control is developed as well to obtain a simple and easy-implemented control algorithm for bearingless motors. The feasibility of proposed method is verified through simulation and experimental results. © 2019 IEEE.
