Abstract:For the aim of reducing total output torque ripple and simplifying the control scheme, this paper studied on a new model predictive control method based on voltage vector selecting of direct torque control. This method remained the simplification and flexibility of model predictive control. Sectors where combined flux vector was located in were utilized to determine the commutation logic, resulting in a simplified cost function. By the corresponding relation between sectors and voltage vectors, input variables of predictive controller were reduced. The new scheme avoids mass useless computation and no longer relies on hysteresis signals to generate voltage vectors, which gains a good torque ripple minimization performance on a fixed and relatively small control frequency. Thus the new scheme has the potential for further improvement and practicability. Simulations and experiments were carried out on a three-phase 12/8 structure SRM. For comparison, direct torque control and model predictive control methods were also tested. The results prove that the new method achieves the design anticipation. © 2017 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
