Reliability modeling and analysis of multi-state dynamic degradation for complex equipment system of compliant mechanism

Abstract:In the complicated condition, the states of the complex equipment system of compliant mechanism, in the whole life cycle, often degenerative transfer since the critical components are very easy to generate fatigue damage. To deal with the difficult problem of the assessment of the system reliability during the dynamic degradation process, this article proposes a novel multi-state degenerate homogeneous continous time Markov process (HCTMP) model which combines HCTMP with the dynamic degradation mechanism of the complex equipment system of compliant mechanism. Then, we simulate the risk of degradation failure of the complex equipment system of compliant mechanism by Monte Carlo method. Afterward, the dynamic expected value, dynamic normalized integrated expected value and expected length of time are adopted to assess the complex equipment reliability dynamic degradation processes. The case study results show that the proposed approach can effectively solve the reliability problem of evaluating multi-state dynamic degradation process and provide an important foundation for the maintenance of replacement decision-making. © 2018, Editorial Board of Journal of Systems Engineering Society of China.
