Abstract:Based on the piezoelectric shunt damping technique, a new type of vibration reduction ring was designed to use piezoelectric stack. It was shown that the vibration reduction ring can effectively reduce support vibration transmitted by a transmission system through shaft and bearing, avoid piezoelectric stack to bear tangential stress and increase its service life. Here, a new passive control theoretical model for piezoelectric vibration reduction ring was proposed. The complex stiffness of the vibration reduction ring and the force transfer rate function of the whole system were derived according to the piezoelectric equation and mechanical-electric coupled features of piezoelectric stack to propose 3 external circuit forms. The software MATLAB was used to optimize parameters of electronic components in a shunt circuit according to the system's force transfer rate function. Through numerical simulation, the results showed that the peak value of the system's force transfer rate function is obviously reduced after installing a vibration reduction ring, so it has a good vibration reduction effect on bearing-support systems. © 2019, Editorial Office of Journal of Vibration and Shock.
