Changran Geng

Doctoral Degree in Engineering

Personal Information:

I am currently an associate professor at the department of Nuclear science and Engineering.

My research interests lie in several aspects,

  • 1. the basic understanding and clinical application of proton/Heavy ion therapy, Boron neutron capture therapy, with regard to both the physical and biological aspects.

  • 2. Development of novel techniques for quanlity assurance of radiation therapy

  • 3. Monitoring Carbon range with Doppler effect of Prompt gamma from the excited primary carbon ion

  • 4. microdosimetry for BNCT

I was a research fellow in Prof. Harald Paganetti's lab in the Department of Radiation Oncology at  Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.. My research interests lie in the basic understanding and clinical application of proton therapy, with regard to both the physical and biological aspects. For the Ph.D. study at NUAA, I have been working on the construction of hybrid computational phantoms, and its application in proton therapy, radiation protection, space radiation, etc... With that study, I have been expertized on various Monte Carlo tools, such as Geant4/TOPAS/GATE, MCNP, EGS, and very deep understanding of radiation dosimetry and biology.
